I am in love with these beautiful earrings inspired by Chip Potts, the cheerful and most adorable little teacup in the 1991 Disney animated classic, Beauty and the Beast.  This is a simple and straightforward felt sewing project, but the end result is exquisite!  The next time you are cordially invited to tea, arrive with a little teacup flair to make your outfit go from "ever just the same" to "ever a surprise"!

LET'S GET SEWING

Print out the free earring PDF pattern and cut out the pattern pieces. Pin each pattern piece onto your felt and cut out the respective felt pieces. You want to end up with the following number of felt pieces:

Sewing Level:  EASY
(may need some experience with
small blanket stitches)

TIP: This felt project requires cutting out small petal-shaped pieces. I recommend using sharp quality scissors

To make ONE earring, you will need two yellow pieces and 1 purple piece. After you have all of your pieces cut out, begin by sewing one purple piece onto one of the yellow pieces (use white thread, or a thread colour of your choice) as shown below.

Arrange 5 blue petal-shaped pieces as shown below and stitch in place.

TIP: You can use small dots of hot glue to help keep the felt pieces in place while stitching.

Arrange 5 pink petal-shaped pieces on top of the blue pieces as shown below and stitch in place.

Stack the stitched layer on top of the second yellow piece and sew the pieces together at the centre.

Using yellow thread, start sewing the pieces together along the outside. After starting a stitch or two, sew in an 8-9 mm sized jump ring and then continue sewing along the outer edge of the pieces until you reach the start.

Repeat the above steps for the second earring. After your two earring pieces are complete, attach fishhook earwires to the sewed-in jump ring using a smaller jump ring (about 6mm in size).

Admire your handmade creation and add some flair to your Chip Potts inspired style!
