I think I've been quite good this season because I didn't receive a visit from the legendary horrific beast on Krampusnacht - ha ha! Instead, I did receive my delicious order of gourmet coffee from Deadly Grounds and here in this beautiful coffee moment, I share with you:
I have many coffee moments, most of which are centered around a strong dark roast blend; no fancy flavours, just the dark, bitter stuff. During the holiday season, however, I like to experience different festive blends that come together to shape the flavours of Christmas that we've grown to enjoy for years.
KRAMPUSNACHT is a medium roast made with 100% gourmet arabica coffee infused with a beautiful spiced egg nog flavour. I love the deepness of this coffee and it is perfect black or with a dash of cream. And the festive aroma of spiced egg nog that flows out of the bag when you first open it, is just so divine. I decided to get a little fancy with this one and made myself a latte using my regular coffee maker, a milk frother and the measurements below. The general guideline for making a good cup of coffee is to use 2 tablespoons of ground coffee for every 6 ounces of water. I've adjusted this "Golden Ratio" to suit my slightly stronger taste preference.
MY KRAMPUS NACHT SPICED EGG NOG LATTE:
1) Brew your coffee: add 1.5 cups water (about 350ml or 12 fluid ounce) to your coffee maker and 6 tablespoons ground coffee (I ordered the espresso grind. Pour brewed coffee into your favourite mug.
2) Froth 1/2 cup (or 100ml) of cold and fresh milk in a frother
(I have a NESPRESSO Aeroccino)
3) Add frothed milk to your coffee
4) Option: sprinkle with your favourite coffee toppings (I like a small dash of cinnamon or hot chocolate mix. Sweeten your latte if desired.
